“Solid product for self-efficacy and provides keen perspectives on the entertainment industry and the opportunities therein. Add to your arsenal as you navigate through your career journey.”
“Confessions of a Hollywood Intern is an honest and motivational look at Jelani’s journey from college and entry-level jobs to pursuing opportunities in Hollywood. I liked how openly the author discusses rejection, financial struggles, networking, internships, and the pressure of balancing career goals with personal challenges. The book feels personal rather than overly polished, which makes the lessons more relatable.”
How do you break into Hollywood with no connections and turn one internship into a career?
Every year, thousands of talented students graduate with the skills to succeed and no idea how to get their foot in the door. The entertainment industry doesn't post its best opportunities on a job board. It fills them through relationships, reputation, and the quiet rules almost no one explains. Confessions of a Hollywood Intern is the book that finally does.
Part memoir, part interactive workbook, this career guide pulls back the curtain on what it really takes to turn an internship into a real career. Drawn from Jelani Khalfani's own internships at Complex, BLAVITY, Times10 Media, and KJLH 102.3, it translates the invisible codes of competitive industries into a step-by-step system any student can follow, covering internships, networking, rejection, and the long game of career growth.
